Oasis VFX Helps Bring Winter to Vancouver’s August heat for Lexus’s 2024 Christmas Campaign
I recently completed Co On-Set VFX supervision for a major Lexus commercial, filmed across Greater Vancouver, Whistler, Squamish Valley and Sea to Sky logging roads. The biggest challenge was managing a tight timeline and unpredictable weather, which meant we had to be spot on in capturing data for the post team to execute flawlessly. With multiple shoots happening simultaneously, our team had to stay in constant communication, ensuring that the client, production, and vendors were all aligned. A key innovation was the use of LED tracking markers for darker shots, which worked perfectly and keyed out seamlessly. Coordinating across diverse camera systems—from drones to handhelds—required meticulous planning, especially as we moved quickly between locations.
I was especially proud of the Drone Team at Revered Cinema whom i had the pleasure of directing as second unit in some cases.
Thanks to the incredible organization by the local crew at The Capital Media Co and the efforts of the entire team, we captured everything needed to create a visually stunning final product.
